1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Direct message the job poster from Atlantic Group We’re recruiting for a Senior Property Accountant with a unique blend of skills -- someone who can confidently review financial statements while also handling administrative tasks as needed. This role supports multifamily real estate portfolios, overseeing general ledger activity, preparing and reviewing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The accountant will play a key role in both internal and external financial reporting and will collaborate closely with our third-party property accounting team. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including variance analysis, to ensure accuracy and timeliness Manage general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and year-end adjustments Oversee accounts payable functions, including invoice approvals and coding in Yardi Ensure compliance with debt covenants and lender reporting requirements Oversee tax filings, including property, sales, and business taxes, and ensure timely property tax payments Support audits by reviewing audit schedules and providing accurate documentation Participate in acquisition and disposition processes as needed Collaborate with internal teams and third parties, including asset management, property management, and fund accounting Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff Contribute to ongoing process improvements and other assigned projects Requirements: 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property or real estate accounting Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation/review Proficient in property accounting systems (e.g., Yardi) Skilled in financial analysis with the ability to deliver clear, actionable insights Detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking abilities Self-starter who thrives both independently and in a team environment CPA preferred, but not required 45684 Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Accounting/Auditing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Atlantic Group by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for “Property Accountant” roles.
